Staging Rings can be inserted into the top of the vase to aid the arrangement of flowers in shows. These rings were designed for my own use, to reduce my reliance on floral foams. They are not available for sale.

STAGING RINGS UPDATE – 2025
I like using Staging Rings and have now slipped into a routine where I use a mix of materials. For all my general cut flower work – eg vases of annuals, perennials etc – I use my staging rings. For large displays in bowls and containers I use Agrawool/Fibre Floral as that fits into the large containers I use. If I do have to use traditional foams, when I am competing against others using traditional foams or when I am not using my own vases, I use the ‘Bio’ version.
These two vases are recent examples – one using a Staging Ring and one Agrawool.
Another example (below) also uses a vase of ‘traditional’ bio-foam for comparison. The Staging Ring is bottom right, Agrawool top and traditional ‘bio’-foam bottom left. Some differences are due to variations in the quality of the blooms.

STAGING RINGS IN ACTION! MY EXPERIENCE USING THE RINGS
I’ve written a short article about my experience using the rings in the 2022 show season. This formed the basis of an article in the 2023 National Dahlia Society Annual. A similar article appears in the National Sweet Pea Society 2022 Autumn Bulletin.
In addition to dahlias and sweet peas, I’ve exhibited many other types of flowers using the rings – now over 550 vases of flowers between 2022 and 2024.
