Early National Sweet Pea Show 2023, 2024 & 2025

2025 Early National

My sweet peas came early this year because of the heat, so it was a bit of a struggle to get them to hold on to the National on the 21st June, but we made it!

The 12 vases of 15 stems for my Class 1 Roger Parsons Challenge consisted of:

Top row left to right – Gwendoline, Jilly, Sir Jimmy Shand & Daily Mail

Middle – Restormel, Karen Loiuse Mrs Bernard Jones, Just Julia

Bottom – Oban Bay, Alan Titchmarsh, Eclipse, Mary Priestley

The 9 vase of 15 stems for my Class 2 Sutton entry was:

Top – Just Julia, Sir Jimmy Shand, Gwendoline

Middle – Daily Mail, Oban Bay, Jilly

Bottom – Mary Priestley, Alan Titchmarsh & Bristol

The Class 4, 3 vases of 15, Burpee Cup Class entry was

Bristol, Syd Dunscombe & Sir Jimmy Shand.

2024 Virtual Early National at Home!

It was very sad to hear that the Early Sweet Pea Society National Show at Wisley (26-27 June) was cancelled. I had a lot of blooms with no show to go to, so I cut and staged my exhibits at home. A few photos of what I had hoped to put on the show bench…..

The 12 vases of 15 stems for my Class 1 Daily Mail Cup entry would probably have consisted of:

Top row left to right – Lady Nicholson, Anniversary, Gwendoline, Karen Louise

Middle – Jilly, Just Julia, Mary Priestley, Syd Dunscombe

Bottom – Eclipse, Mrs Bernard Jones, Sir Jimmy Shand, Alan Titchmarsh

The 6 vase of 15 stems for my Class 3 Tom Jones Cup entry might have been:

Top – Millennium, Somerset Lady, Daily Mail

Bottom – Jilly, Karen Louise, Mary Priestley

The Class E Society 20 vase was planned to be 10 Jilly and 10 Karen Louise.

A mixed Class 8 vase of 15 in pink was made up of stems of Gwendoline, Mrs Bernard Jones, Evie Jones, Syd Dunscombe, Alan Titchmarsh & Somerset Lady.

For fun, there are two versions of this mixed vase. One is staged using Agrawool and the other is staged using my own Staging Rings

Finally, I’ve included a bowl – for Class 5.
